About us
Hard Work is made by Beacon Light Investments, a small, independent company. No venture capital, no growth team, no dashboard full of engagement metrics — just a product we wanted to exist and couldn't find.
The idea came from watching contractors do the same dance over and over: incredible work documented on a phone, and no practical way to ever find it again. The photos were the portfolio. The portfolio was unreachable.
The obvious fix — upload everything to a cloud service and let servers sort it out — was one we weren't willing to build. A photo library is one of the most personal things a person owns. It has your job sites, and it also has your kids. We didn't want custody of either.
Hard Work runs a full vision model on the device itself. That was the hard way to build this, and it's the whole point: your photos get the benefit of modern AI without a single one of them leaving your pocket. The app has no accounts, no analytics, and nothing to breach.
Your work is your asset. The proof of a tradesperson's skill shouldn't be locked in an unsearchable camera roll — or handed to a tech company to monetize.
Software should respect the person holding it. Big readable text, honest explanations, an undo for everything, and a privacy policy short enough to actually read.
The AI works for you. Every tag is a suggestion you can overrule in one tap. The app shows its reasoning — including every photo it chose not to look at, and why.
